The most typical short-term negative effects of chemotherapy include fatigue, hair loss, nausea, mucositis (irritation of the liner of the mouth and intestines), elevated threat of an infection (because of low white-blood-cell counts), and anemia (as a result of low crimson-blood-cell counts).
